4.5 Pint Pitchers of Beer

So. Last night we went to a pub called The Court London, and it was GREAT. It was the typical college bar. Except it was in London. And the pool tables were for midgets and the pool table balls were dark and light instead of solids and stripes. Who do these brits think they are? Really?

However, to cancel out the horror that was The Court's pool tables, we met some fellow Americans and had a good chat with them. And I received a list of about 15 things we HAVE to do before we leave London. Excellent!

But it really surprised me, the pubs in London are NOT open late at all! They kicked us out around midnight, just after Dan and I polished off a 4.5 pint pitcher.... between the two of us.... within the hour.... Probably not a good story for mom, needless to say. Hi Mom. :)

But then we got a taxi home, and it was great. Our driver was very... splendid! Of course any cheery old Englishman is going to
appear "splendid" to me. Also, they all remind me of Smee from the movie Hook, played by Bob Hoskins. (Reference here:

But today we plan to mosey around Kensington Gardens (per Andrew Klipa's request in the comment from the last blog). Maybe hit up Soho, and the Bag O' Nails, which sounds like a bizarre place where the Beatles used to hang out. Yes please!

This evening at 7:30, we leave for the Shakespeare play MacBeth, which we will be seeing at the same place Shakespeare and the Queen saw it for the first time -- The Globe Theatre in London! As you may assume, I am digging it. Digging it real hard. With a shovel. If it were literal, I may continue digging a little too long, maybe even dig a whole all the way to China. Wait, would it still be China in England? Or is it Thailand or something? Maybe Japan? Wiki it, let me know...

Anyway, we also plan to go to the British Museum today, which should be interesting. Hopefully we make it there today, but if not, there's always tomorrow!
